The NorthEastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) was established in 1963 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.
NEMLEC counts 54 municipal police and sheriff agencies among its members. NEMLEC provides the highest quality of support and supplemental public safety services to its member communities through regional partnerships.
The NEMLEC Police Foundation was established in 2005 as a separate non-profit corporation formed solely to raise funds to support NEMLEC activities. It is a recognized 501(c)(3) corporation.
We use our funds to provide specialized training to a pool of over 2,900 NEMLEC police officers and over 700 sheriff's deputies located in Middlesex and Essex Counties.
We also provide training and equipment to the specialized units of NEMLEC, which include S.W.A.T (Special Weapons and Tactics), STARS (School Threat Assessment/Response System) and RRT (Regional Response Team).
